Sister ActThe touring production of Sister Act runs at the Newcastle Theatre Royal from Tuesday to 25th August.

SPID Theatre Company, under the auspices of Northern Stage, bring their outdoor promenade production Childsplay to Leazes Park, Newcastle, from Thursday to Sunday at 6.30 (matinees on Saturday and Sunday at 2.00). This is a free production, not suitable for under 8.

La Monana, a professional repertory dance company dedicated to the preservation, promotion and study of traditional Central African Culture, is at the Customs House in South Shields on Saturday.

The Puppet Man comes to Whitley Bay Playhouse on Wednesday at 1.30.

The Billingham Festival 2012 Gala Night is at the Billingham Forum on Saturday at 7.30.

Throughout the week Arc, Stockton, presents a series of dance workshops and performances as part of the Billingham International Folklore Festval. A full programme can be found at http://www.arconline.co.uk/dance.php

Also part of the Part of the 48th Billingham International Folklore Festival, music and dances from Hawaii, Tahiti, New Zealand, Samoa, Fuji, Cook Islands and Easter Islands come to the Middlesbrough Theatre on Tuesday, followed on Thursday by the Festival Gala Night.
