Where's My Seat at the Bush? The first production at the Bush Theatre's new home, Where's My Seat?, will feature three plays by three writers, each of which will have a different stage configuration and the writers also have the problem of having to use stage directions by others and props chosen by the National Theatre. Deirdre Kinhan has to work with stage directions written by Michael Grandage and props which include a glass cabinet, a small dog, a blue plane and necklace made of human fingers. her play will be performed on a thrust stage. Tom Wells' play, staged in the round, will have stage directions by Alan Ayckbourn and the props will include a giant strawberry, a coal scuttle, a dog, two rabbits and a mask. Jack Thorne's play will be produced end-on and will have stage directions written by the theatre's outgoing artistic director Josie Rourke. Among the props will be the strawberry, the mask and the plane, a small tub of cream, plus a basketball and the coal scuttle filled with roses. All three plays will be directed by Tamara Harvey and the cast will be Francesca Annis, Debbie Chazen, Richard Cordery, Hugo Speer, Hugh Skinner and Nina Sosanya. The production runs from 15th June to 2nd July in the new Bush Theatre in the old Shepherd's Bush Library in Uxbridge Road.
Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
