Whistle Replaces Woman Before Spamalot When the Woman in White closes tomorrow (Saturday 25th February), the Palace Theatre will get ready to host a short revival of another Andew Lloyd Webber show, Whistle Down the Wind, which will run from 15th March to 12th August (dates subject to confirmation). Neither the creative team nor the cast of Whistle have yet been announced. In October Spamalot moves into the theatre, previewing from 2nd and opening on 17th. The part of King Arthur will be played initially by Tim Curry, who originated the part, and Simon Russell Beale, who is currently playing the part on Broadway, from January. Tickets for the West End production went on sale this week. "American people are less discerning and their critics are more easily bribed," Eric Idle said at the launch, explaining why he had decided to open the show in the US. But he is pleased to be bringing it to the UK "where the only thing to fear is fear itself and critics beating us to death with pointy sticks." Please note that all three Archive indices are very long and will therefore take some time to download.
