Jonny Wilkes and Christian Patterson will team up again for Aladdin, the 2017 panto at Stoke’s Regent Theatre.

Wilkes, born in the Baddeley Green area of Stoke, will make his 12th Regent panto appearance as Aladdin. Patterson appears alongside him for the eighth time, taking the role of Widow Twankey. In February 2017 he was in My Country; A Work in Progress at the National Theatre in London.

For the first time in a Regent panto, a 3D sequence will send audiences flying over Old Peking and beyond on a flying carpet ride.

Michael Harrison, managing director of Qdos Entertainment’s pantomime division which is producing Aladdin, said, “we know just how well-loved Jonny and Christian are in Stoke, so it makes perfect sense to invite them back to star in the Regent pantomime. It’ll be our first time working with them.”

Aladdin runs from Friday 15 December until Sunday 7 January 2018.
