Will Young is to star in Rufus Norris's re-imagining of his double Olivier-award winning production of Cabaret.
The production will play The Lowry in Salford in September as one of only four dates outside London prior to a West End run.
Speaking of the role, Will said: "The role of the Emcee is a part I have wanted to play since before I started training at Arts Education in Chiswick when I first moved to London. With Rufus and Javier de Frutos I couldn't wish for better people to be surrounded by. I have spent the last ten years, singing, dancing and acting all separately. For the first time I get to do all three in one show!"
Since a Broadway premiere in 1966 and the movie version with Liza Minnelli and Oscar winner Joel Grey, Cabaret has won a staggering number of stage and screen awards including eight Oscars, seven BAFTAs and 13 Tonys.
Rufus Norris is the multi-award winning theatre, opera and film director whose most recent production at the National Theatre, where he is Associate Director, was the acclaimed musical London Road.
