Hosted in association with Writernet, Pier Playwrights' third regional conference, Would Like to Meet 2, will be held at Chichester Festival Theatre (Minerva Studio) on Wednesday 12 October.

The event draws together writers with everyone with a professional interest in new creative writing in the South East. Speakers and guests include: Claire Malcolm (New Writing North), Ruth MacKenzie (Chichester Festival Theatre), Hanna Slattne (Dramaturg Network/Tinderbox Theatre), Simon Fanshawe (Writer and Broadcaster), Angharad Rees (Script Cymru) and many more.

The conference will have two major focus points:

• Writers United – a debate about the benefits and pitfalls of a regional organisation serving creative writers of all media and genre. The debate will be led by Claire Malcolm, director of the UK’s only organisation that does just that.
• Joined Up Script Reading and Dramaturgy – A discussion to explore, and inform, ways everyone professionally involved with reading, developing and presenting new work could benefit by co-operation and joined up thinking.
