Nicholas Woodeson has been nominated in the UK Theatre Awards 2017 for best performance in a play for the Northampton Royal and Derngate production of Death of a Salesman.
Woodeson played Willy Loman in Royal and Derngate’s touring production of Arthur Miller’s masterpiece. He took over from Tim Pigott-Smith who died just before the play was due to start in Northampton.
Award winners will be announced at a ceremony in London’s Guildhall on Sunday 15 October.
Royal and Derngate is also eligible for the Clothworkers’ Foundation award of up to £150,000 which is presented each year to a regional producing theatre in England. The 2017 award will go to a theatre from either the East or the West Midlands.
