John Sackville, who played Peter de Courcey in the Golden Globe-winning Netflix series The Crown is to star in the title role of William Wordsworth at Theatre by the Lake in Keswick.
A world première, written by American playwright Nicholas Pierpan and co-produced with English Touring Theatre, it runs from March 31 to April 22.
Also in the cast is Olivier Award-winning actor Joseph Mydell whose credits include the TV series Homeland.
William Wordsworth looks at the lesser-known story behind Wordsworth’s fame, set at a time when money problems and the health of his family clashed with his artistic and poetic ambitions.
