A new charity, Worthing Theatres and Museum (WTM), has taken over the management of Worthing Theatres, Museum and Art Gallery from the Borough Council.

The independent charity will be chaired by local businessman and entrepreneur Peter Cadwallader and will employ all the staff. The Council retains ownership of the buildings and assets which includes the four venues: The Connaught Theatre, The Connaught Studio, Assembly Hall and Pavilion Theatre.

CEO Amanda O’Reilly said, “as an independent charity, we are now able to increase external funding, develop our programme and expand our creative work with the communities of Worthing. These are exciting times for Worthing Theatres and Museum as we redefine what a regional multi-arts and heritage organisation can be.”

Theatre in Worthing Theatres' current season includes Brighton Festival sell-out Enter the Dragons, Proteus Theatre Company’s physical re-imagining of Macbeth and for family audiences Cinderella: The Pantomime.

There is also a programme of dance, music, stand-up comedy and children's events.
