Writers' conference for Sale

The third Northern Lights Writers’ Conference for emerging and established writers takes place on November 14 at Waterside Arts Centre in Sale, and includes talks, workshops and panel discussions with award-winning writers and publishing professionals.

Northern Lights this year has a distinct focus on writing for stage and screen. Amongst the industry experts leading workshops will be Len Grant whose blog Life Without Papers was adapted for stage to become Undocumented, directed by Alex Summers and performed at the Royal Exchange Studio.

Also James Varney, writer and theatre maker who has created theatre at Derby Theatre, The Royal Exchange, Manchester Literature Festival, Live at LICA and Camden People’s Theatre.

There will also be a session dedicated to performance and the spoken word with DaDa Award.

Performance Artist of the Year Rosie Garland and writing for radio with Made In Manchester director Ashley Byrne and BBC Radio 4 writer and producer Gary Brown.
