Dateline: 21st July, 2002 Autumn/Winter at Leeds The West Yorkshire Playhouse has announced its Autumn/Winter season, the first under its new artistic director Ian Brown. It opens with Tom Stoppard's Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, directed by Gemma Bodinetz (14th september to 19th October), immediately (25th October to 30th November) followed by the play which inspired it, Hamlet. Brown directs and the cast includes Christopher Eccleston as Hamlet, Brigit Forsyth (Gertrude) and Maxine Peake (Ophelia). Then there are two plays about poet Philip Larkin. Larkin with Women by Ben Brown runs from 27th September to 26th October. The play, which premiered at the Stephen Jospeh in Scarborough won the Barclays Best New Play Award in 2002. From 22nd November to 21st December Tom Courtenay will perform his own one-man show Pretending to be Me, also about Larkin. Ian Brown directs. The last play of the season is Ashman and Menkin's hilarious spoof horror musical Little Shop of Horrors. It runs from the 7th December to 8th February, 2003.
