Derby Theatre is to take part in EMerge Day—a regional celebration of arts and culture aimed at children and young people aged five to 25.

EMerge Day, which will bring together a varied range of arts activities at venues across the East Midlands, aims to show children and young people how diverse and engaging the arts and culture can be.

Derby Theatre is looking for individuals and groups from Derbyshire to be involved in The Best of Derby. The event will inspire young people to celebrate their city and to explore careers in the arts as well as performing.

Caroline Barth, Derby Theatre’s head of learning, said, “we’re delighted to be one of the regional venues hosting our own EMerge Day event. We feel confident that we have a good, enriching cultural experience that we can offer young people in our city.

The Best of Derby is a great opportunity for young people in Derby and surrounding areas to showcase their talent and inspire others.”

Anyone interested in applying to perform at EMerge Day, which will be Saturday 14 February, should e-mail [email protected] by 5PM on Monday 9 February.
