Fringe 2010 Blog - IntroductionDuring this year's Edinburgh Fringe, actor Christopher Dingli will be blogging about his experiences taking part in Emma Thompson presents: Fair Trade at the Pleasance Dome and generally about the Fringe. About ChristopherChristopher is an actor, writer and musician. He trained in classical acting at Webber Douglas Academy in London. As an actor he has toured the length and breadth of the UK and has also performed in Spain and Malta. His most recent credits include the feature film Agora and a national tour of Othello in which he played Iago. This is his second appearance at the Edinburgh Festival, having first visited the festival in 2008 as a busker and actor in the cast of a musical about the bubonic plague. About the BlogChristopher regularly blogs about his experiences as an actor and musician, especially when on tour. Blog entries are written entirely whilst on the road - in motorway rest-stops, theatre changing rooms, the back of a people carrier whilst on the M1, and countless other random places. This rough and ready treatment really captures the humour and heartache that define the working actor's life. Following his popular Othello tour blog, Christopher will now write about his experiences at the Edinburgh Festival. Expect some fun, lots of silliness, a little wit, a couple of very bad puns, maybe a little grumbling, and quite a few comparisons between this year's Fringe experience (as a paid actor in a high-profile show) to that of 2008 (as a broke, unpaid actor with lots of talent). Check out his previous blog entries at www.christopherdingli.com About Fair TradeEmma Thompson presents: Fair Trade is the name of verbatim-inspired accounts of two very different female survivors of the British sex slave trade. Their journeys and remarkable stories are told in a powerfully honest and unsentimental way through drama, music, comedy and physical theatre. "One of the best scripts I've seen in years; I'm extremely proud to be involved" - Oscar winner Emma Thompson. Performances daily (except 16, 23 August), Pleasance Dome at 15:30. www.shatterbox.co.uk |
