The Last Day - Sunday, 11 July 2010

Today was the last day off before the tour begins. They're always a bit weird these last days. There's always so much to do. And yet, you want to relax and take it as easy as possible. I did a little of both.

In the morning I picked up my rucksack from our storage unit, then went over to a BBQ. My sister is house-sitting for some friends and the place has a large garden. She invited myself, my wife, our aunt and a couple of other friends over for a day in the sun on the lawn.

The house itself is spectacular, and on this day was matched only by the glorious weather. It was all very civilised, sunbathing, then eating way too much, drinking Pimms and wine, taking a nap in the hammock at the bottom of the garden, then watching the World Cup final. The Netherlands were my Fair Trade company sweepstakes team. Thanks to Spain, I lost out on winning a massive box of Kit Kats. Still, with all the food I ate today, maybe that's not such a bad thing...
