3rd March, 2002Somehow chocolate and crisps haven't quite got the allure they should have when you can eat them 24/7, and anyway I'm now missing doing some exercise. Life is a sod! In a few days these treats will be denied me and I'll want them more than a coat in the snow. Mother Nature, what a cruel beast she is. Immanent tetanus jab must have been at the back of my mind when I was cutting back thorns on the paddock. Ripped a pair of gloves, my coat and my finger - , is it lock jaw, or just unwillingness to stuff any more sweet stuff into my mouth? Got 'the feeling' about the radio play and got the urge to work on it; ideas flowing quite nicely now that I've got the right setting and changed the main characters occupation, making it the reason why he's down there (in a nucleur bunker) At last all the bags for charity have gone to it. Cleared a whole room - well they have been building up since March last year. Feel almost spiritual. Cleaned out one of my desk drawers whilst in this high state of mind. Threw away two diaries, newspaper competitions I never entered, receipts for presents bought yonks ago, old computer wipes, guarantees for an assortment of stuff (out of date) - and found instructions for my exercise bike which reminded me; I've heard nothing from them since sending them the broken computer off it. Must ring them tomorrow. Collated all my bits of paper from around the house and transferred them to my super shiny folders on the computer. Disaster did strike this house! I lost one of my internet connections, which meant I couldn't receive my emails. Oh the pain of it! For what is life without emails? Had to retrieve it from our internet provider, and somehow in the retrieval I ended up with seven internet connections, numbered one to seven. What did I do? What did I do? Deleted the six I thought were extraneous and hoped the one I saved was the original - it was number one, it had to be didn't it? Wasn't convinced so partner Howard checked the connections and I added my own two pence worth and it seems I'm all sorted again, but my email in box seems to be a bit sparse, so I'm not convinced... Email reply from Paul Stokes the author of the book about the bunker I want to visit. What a great bloke, getting back so quickly with all the info I needed, so we are off to said Bunker on an organised visit next month - at night - I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bought the Tracy Shaw 'Salsasice' video (zillions of other exercise videos for people who won't go near a gym are also available) The warm up was all I managed, but have every hope for the future of me and Salsa. Did some weights and waist exercises. Two hours later had two packets of crisps and a cake while watching Richard and Judy. Oh when will this diet holiday end, it's such a chore. Forget it, I enjoyed every mouthful. Looked at my memos made at the start of the year and realised I'd added but not taken away. Resolve to have ticked a couple of things off by next weeks diary.
