St Joan

The legend and myth of St Joan of Arc continues to have resonance and the idea of considering her impact on history is an intriguing one. The concept of modern women exploring Joan’s identity is also a great starting point.

This production, whilst passionately performed, misses the mark, however, with a jumbled narrative and confusing character switches.

With explanatory notes it might have been a different experience, but without them, the political and feminist points made are somewhat lost.
