Romeo and Juliet

Workshop/auditions will be held at St Luke's Church, Burton Stone Lane, York on Saturdays March 19 and April 9.

The director, Sarah Punshon of the West Yorkshire Playhouse, will hold workshops from 10am to noon for anyone wanting an introduction into acting or back stage

She will then hold auditions from 1pm to 5pm for cast and also for people who want to be involved in set, costume and props design and making. For cast auditions please bring a Shakespeare piece or one will be provided

Both workshops and auditions are open to all but the workshop is not part of the audition process, it is an optional extra.

We will be rehearsing on Sunday afternoons from 2 to 6 and Monday and Tuesday evenings from 8 to 10.30 at St Luke's. Then we go into Rowntree Park on Saturday July 9 for technical and dress rehearsals before opening night

Come along on either Saturday or contact Alan Lyons on 01904-638865 oremail alan@yorkshakespeare.org.uk for a definite audition time or further details.

Wish List!

On the wish list we could do with as much help-in-kind as we can get. The obvious things are curtain, costume, scaffolding, set material, transport and all publicty such as photography, printing, help on the web site. If anyone has any contacts or is willing to help please let Alan know

Sarah would also like some live music, does anyone know a sax or possibly trumpet player? Also she would want some recorded music so we would need speakers

And does anyone know a lindyhop dance teacher?
