Annual General Meeting

The AGM of the York Shakespeare Project will be held on Tuesday 20th May at The Stables, 10a Nunmill Street, off Scarcroft Road, York, at 7.30 pm.

The agenda will include

  • elections to the executive committee
  • fundraising
  • Paul Toy, director of The Taming of the Shrew, will talk about the production
  • Video clips from Richard III

All are welcome.

The Taming of the Shrew

Shrew, the next production, will be performed at Pocklington Civic Arts Centre at 7.30 on Friday 13th and Saturday 14th June (Saturday matinee at 2.30). Tickets are £5 (£4 concessions) from the box office (01795 301547).

It then moves to the Joseph Rowntree Theatre on 15th, 16th and 17th June. Tickets £7 (£6 concessions). Tickets are availabkle from YSP members and from Ticket World on patrick Pool and from the Tourist Information centre at the De Grey Rooms.

A Comedy of Errors

The next production will be A Comedy of Errors, which will be directed by Chris Rawson. It will be performed in four venues:

  • Burtonstone Lane Community Centre on Thursday 20th November
  • Tang Hall CC on 21st November
  • Foxwood CC on 22nd November
  • The Friargate Theatre (TBA)

Outreach

There will be an open workshop based on The Taming of the Shrew at Pocklington Civic Arts Centre on Saturday 31st May from 2.00 to 4.00. Admission is free.

Fundraising

An application has been made to the Arts Council England's Awards for All fund. There will be a fundraising cafe at St Crux's Church on 11th December.
