Inspired by the classic Chinese novel Journey to the West, Samsara is a duet that traces the steps we take in search of our higher selves.
Aakash Odedra (UK / India) and Hu Shenyuan (China) use their disciplines of contemporary dance, kathak and Chinese folk to explore the Buddhist notion of samsara: the wheel of life, birth, existence and re-birth.
The score is by Nicki Wells, featuring Mongolian throat singing and traditional Chinese percussion.
