The state of Denmark is corrupt. That much seems true. But a young prince believes that it goes deeper than just the machinery of government. He suspects murder.
Exploring what Shakespeare's rotten state feels like through the eyes of the younger generation, this stripped back interpretation, created by the young company, looks at how the actions of those in power effect the inheritors of the nation.
Hamlet will be created and performed by members of the RSC Next Generation Act Company, made up of young people recruited from across the county, and with an Associate Director and behind-the-scenes creatives drawn from the Next Generation Direct and Backstage programmes.
