There's a chance to delve behind the scenes and take part in free creative activities at Chichester Festival Theatre on 14 September as part of the nationwide Heritage Open Days.

Hard Hat Tours

45-minute tours plus 15 minutes for questions.

Tours of the Festival Theatre building site will take place with Dan Watkins, Project Diector of RENEW. Learn about the vision of the Festival Theatre's original architects, Powell and Moya and how this is being restored after five decades of gradual changes and additions.

Concrete Stages

Marquee in Oaklands Park beside the theatre building, drop in beetween 10AM and 1PM.

The theatre's 20th Century architecture was only made possible by the use of the world's most used and derided building material: concrete.

Learn about its properties, its architectural impact and its importance to Chichester Festival Theatre and make a little for yourself.

Printmaking in the Park

Marquee in Oaklands Park beside the theatre bulding, drop in between 3 and 6PM.

Community artist Thomas Edward Robson (T3R) will be running free drop-in print-making workshopes inspired by the history and design of Chichester Festival Theatre, exploring its geometry, shapes and materials.
