One Dance UK has announced its search for a new Chair for its board of trustees following the end of Sue Wyatt’s term in March 2020 after five years.

During Sue Wyatt’s tenure as Chair, she oversaw the merger of the four organisations that became One Dance UK and the company’s relocation to Birmingham. Its outreach work in communities and schools has expanded and its membership scheme has provided support to dancers, researchers and organisations across the sector.

Wyatt said, "I took on the role saying that I would serve only one term to establish a new organisation, secure funding, build profile and relocate outside of London. This has all been achieved. It is right to stand down in 2020 as promised, but it is difficult to leave such a vibrant organisation at such an exciting time. I am proud of One Dance UK and thank the board and staff for their dedication and hard work."

Chief Executive Andrew Hurst said, “we are incredibly grateful to Sue for all of her hard work getting us to this point. Thanks to her we have an even brighter future as an organisation. It has been amazing to work alongside Sue and on behalf of the whole team I would like to pay tribute to her commitment and contribution as our outgoing Chair. We will look forward to working with the new Chair, guiding the organisation to continue to go from strength to strength, for the benefit of all working in the dance sector.”
