No Pay? No Way!

Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre’s new year programme includes the UK première of smash-hit No Pay? No Way!—a new version of Dario Fo and Franco Rame’s original farce by Australian writer Marieke Hardy.

The 2019 International Bruntwood Prize winner Kimber Lee also sees her winning entry untitled f*ck m*ss s**gon have its world première in partnership with Manchester International Festival, the Young Vic and Headlong.

Premières and partnerships characterise the season. Artistic directors Roy Alexander Weise and Bryony Shanahan are in collaboration with artists and companies across the world.

Shanahan opens 2023 with David Eldridge’s Beginning, seen in Manchester for the first time following a National Theatre and West End run in 2018. The two-hander is a celebration of the unexpected, an observation of the complexity of meeting someone for the first time and stepping into the unknown. Beginning runs February 16–March 11.

Tennessee Williams’s 1955 Pulitzer Prize winning play Cat On A Hot Tin Roof gets a new production for 2023. It’s Big Daddy’s birthday and the family are home for one helluva celebration. Join the party March 24–April 29.

No Pay No Way is from May 12–June 10 and f*ck m*ss s**gon opens June 24–July 22 before transferring to the Young Vic.
