Many North East theatres are still dark this week or presenting musical or comedy one-night stands or amateur shows. The only professional theatre productions are:
- Jack and the Beanstalk continues at Newcastle Theatre Royal until Saturday.
- The touring production of Singin' in the Rain opens at Sunderland Empire on Tuesday and runs until 1 February.
- Half Moon presents M for Medea at the Queen's Hall in Hexham on Friday.
