After lunch, things kicked off with actor, author and columnist Michael Simkins talking about his life and experience in theatre.

He perhaps surprised some in the audience by declaring that “most actors don’t know much about theatre“—and not just actors, he had an agent in mind who asked him who Michael Hordern was.

This was a largely anecdotal session, some light relief from a skilled raconteur before facing up to what the theatre industry and acting profession think of critics.
