Introduction
In the following pages, some of our reviewers have described their theatrical highlights of the year, not necessarily ones that they have reviewed for us or that fall within their usual geographical or subject areas.
Each writer has taken his or her own approach to the brief: some have just given a straight list of their favourite productions, while others have embedded them in a more detailed account of their theatrical year.
The pages are categorised by the reviewers' usual geographical areas, but, as stated above, some have made selections from outside these areas.
