Bedlam and Assembly

Bedlam Theatre is celebrating it’s 33rd year on the Fringe and with the scaffolding removed to reveal Bedlam’s iconic façade there is an eclectic programme from both new and established acts.

You may like to try the Improverts, the Bedlam’s resident improv troupe, that creates hilarious sketches based on the audience’s suggestions, or the stalwarts Babolin Theatre that returns this year with a new show Sentinels, bringing statues to life with physical theatre and wordplay in this new ensemble piece.

If you love musicals then I would highly recommend The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, which brings three shows to the Fringe including Broadway’s funniest hit Avenue Q at the Assembly Hall.

Forest Boy, is an intriguing story of a boy who appeared in Berlin in 2011 claiming to have grown up in a forest and is based on a true story which is playing in repertoire at The Assembly in George Square with Freak Show that explores the secrets of the circus and the madness of the world behind it.

Or perhaps Sincerely, Mr Toad starring Keith Jack, runner-up on Any Dream Will Do, in Sell A Door Theatre Company’s new musical charting the turbulent life of author Kenneth Grahame and his relationship with his son Alastair, which highlights the heartache that tormented the man who wrote one of literature's greatest works.
