Footloose

Author(s): Dean Pitchford and Walter Bobbie Company: Pitlochry Festival Theatre and New Wolsey Theatre

Revisit the ‘80s with Footloose, the story of Ren McCormack, who moves with his mother from Chicago to a small farming town after his father abandons them. Ren is prepared for the adjustment to his new high school, but what he isn’t prepared for is a ban on dancing by the local preacher, Revered Shaw Moore.

With the help of Ariel, the Reverend’s rebellious daughter, and Willard, a country hick who becomes his best friend, Ren convinces the Reverend to let the teenagers dance, and in the process helps the town to heal from a tragedy that affected them all.
