Animal Farm
After living under Mr. Jones’ cruel leadership, the underfed and overworked animals of Manor Farm lead a rebellion. With oinks, neighs, and barks of joy, they celebrate their newfound freedom and begin to instil their vision of a place where equality and justice reign supreme; a place named Animal Farm. However, when pigs Napoleon and Snowball see an opportunity to take control of the newly liberated animals, the balance of power slowly begins to tip in their favour, distorting the picturesque vision they once believed in.
Orwell’s critical satire feels particularly poignant today, and his message of those in power manipulating democratic idealism hits home in this chilling adaptation.
