10th anniversary for Bruntwood Prize

The 2015 Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting has opened its 10th anniversary competition. Writers of all levels of experience are invited to enter plays, which must be original, unperformed and unproduced.

The winner will receive a prize of £16,000 and a full production of his or her play at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester. The competition is a partnership between the Exchange and property company Bruntwood.

The 2013 Bruntwood Prize was won by Anna Jordan’s play YEN, which will receive its world première at the Exchange from February 18.

Also premièring later this year will be The Rolling Stone by Chris Urch, which was a winner of a Judges’ Award at the 2013 Bruntwood. The production will be directed by award-winning director Ellen McDougall.
