A Doll's House

Durham-based Elysium Theatre Company has postponed its planned tour of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House which would have been the first play to be performed at Sunderland's new venue, The Fire Station, on 17 February and which was planned to visit other venues across the region, from Hexham to Barnard Castle.

A statement from the company said:

“Due to ongoing concerns around coronavirus and difficulties that theatres are facing across the UK, we have made the decision to postpone our upcoming production of A Doll’s House.

“We are heartbroken to delay sharing this production with you, but feel it is the right decision to keep our company and audiences safe and ensure that they show can move forward successfully.

“We are working with venue partners to announce new tour dates later in 2022.

“We will be back, and stronger than before!”
