The National Gilbert and Sullivan Opera Company will visit the region twice this year, appearing at Darlington Hippodrome before moving on to the Royal Hall in Harrogate for the 26th International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival.

The company stays at the Hippodrome for three days, performing three operas: on 1 August The Gondoliers, on 2 August The Pirates of Penzance and The Mikado on 3 August. All performances start at 7:30 and there will also be a 2:30 matinée on 3 August.

In Harrogate (7–18 August), they will perform the same programme with the addition of The Yeomen of the Guard.

All performances are with a full chorus and principals and are accompanied by the company's National Festival Orchestra.
