Prior to opening its doors again on 2 August, Darlington-based children’s arts charity Theatre Hullabaloo will present a two-week outdoor family festival in Darlington’s South Park from 12 to 25 July, which will feature live theatre, messy play, storytelling, dance and much more. It will be a mix of free and paid-for events for 0- to 10year-olds and their families.

Among the twenty events planned are:

  • Theatr Iolo presenting Baby, Bird & Bee, in which the new gardener playfully goes about his work and is delighted to be joined by a bird, a bee, and course, the babies of the audience.
  • HurlyBurly Theatre with its brand-new show, The Bug Hotel, an interactive experience in which 0- to 2-year-olds enter an intriguing tent full of colours, sounds and imaginative creatures to join the insects on their summer holidays.
  • Seven Stories, The National Centre for Children’s Books, will be organising some fun and interactive storytelling sessions throughout the festival.
  • Chalk is also bringing Ugly Bug Ball and Let’s Fly for families to enjoy.

“We are overjoyed to be bringing Hullabaloo in the Park to South Park, Darlington, this July,” said Miranda Thain, CEO & Artistic Producer at Theatre Hullabaloo. “There is a fantastic programme of events happening throughout the two weeks and we hope many families can come along and enjoy some family fun together. Numbers are limited for each event and most events are pre-bookable only, so head to our web site to see what is on offer.

“We have missed seeing so many families at our venue, The Hullabaloo, and as we prepare to reopen our doors on the 2 August, we hope to see many of you at Hullabaloo in the Park.”
