English Touring Theatre brings Tennessee Williams’s A Streetcar Named Desire to Keswick’s Theatre by the Lake from April 3 to 7.
It features the complex character of Blanche DuBois—proud, seductive, troubled—one of theatre’s most enduring female roles. At the heart of the play is her sexually-charged relationship with her brother-in-law Stanley, immortalised in the 1951 Oscar-winning film adaptation with Vivien Leigh and Marlon Brando.
A raging portrayal of what it means to be an outsider, in a society where all are desperate to belong.
