Two women abused decades earlier reveal how it changed their lives and why they chose to keep what happened to them a secret for so long in Write Yourself Free a new play performed by Dolls House and showing in Manchester.

Inspired by a developing friendship, the women release their dark secrets to find it both liberating and empowering. Now will they chase justice or revenge?

Writer Alan Charnley took his inspiration in writing this feminist play, showing at The Vaults, The Kings Arms Theatre, Salford, on December 4, from the recent jailing of celebrities for historic sexual offences.

The play was favourably received at Buxton and Edinburgh fringe festivals and features Joanna Lavelle and Nici Preston in the featured roles.
