Organisers of Derby Festé have announced that the headline act for the first evening of this year’s festival will be Wired Aerial Theatre’s As the World Tipped.
Festé which started in 2007 has established itself as “one of the best UK street-arts festivals and has attracted some of the highest quality acts, from across the UK and abroad, to the city’s streets”.
The festival will be presented by Without Walls in association with dance venue Déda, the city council’s entertainments arm Derby LIVE and arts centre QUAD.
As the World Tipped “tells a powerful tale of ecological crisis in a real-life disaster-movie-in-the-sky on a precariously moving screen and platform”.
It will be performed on Bass Recreation Ground on Friday 27 September. Tickets cost £5. All other Festé events are free.
Returning for another year will be the Splash Stage which showcases “some of the best talent in Derbyshire”.
A full line-up of acts and events for the weekend of 27 and 28 September will be announced shortly and will also appear at www.derbyfeste.com.
