“Spectacle worth waiting for”: A Christmas Carol

Coventry’s Albany Theatre is to present its own adaption of Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol at Christmas 2021.

The run of 29 shows will be directed by Albany Theatre chief executive and artistic director Kevin Shaw. It will feature “breathtaking sets, spellbinding costumes, heaps of Christmas spirit and a sprinkle of spooky goings-on”.

The Albany’s technical manager Dan Tilley, who will be set and lighting designer for A Christmas Carol, said, “after such a challenging year, we couldn’t be more delighted to have such an exciting project to get our teeth into.

“This is what creating theatre is about, transporting our audiences to a magical world filled to the brim with the message of Christmas, which after the year the nation has had will be a spectacle worth waiting for.”

A Christmas Carol will run from Saturday 4 until Sunday 26 December. There will be a relaxed performance on Wednesday 8 December at 10AM and a BSL-interpreted show on Thursday 16 December at 7PM.
