New theatre company The Whole Pack is to tour its debut production, Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, which features an all-female company.
The company’s goal is to “afford women the opportunity to bring something dazzling and daring to traditional Shakespearean roles”.
The cast comprises Libby Boyd as Oberon and Lysander, Megan Carter as Puck and Hippolyta, Charlotte Frost as Hermia and Quince, Jessamy James as Helena and Titania, Anna Stallibrass as Demetrius and Flute, Meghan Louise Taylor as Bottom and Theseus and Carys Vaughan-Smith as swing.
Jessamy James directs and produces along with Mary Anne Coleman, Meghan Louise Taylor who is also musical director and Megan Carter. Costume designer is Amanda Beauchamp and Lucyelle Cliffe is casting director.
The Whole Pack will start the tour of A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Town and Gown, Cambridge on Thursday 28 November. It continues at Hadstock Village Hall, Cambridge on Friday 29 November, Soulton Hall, Wem, Shrewsbury on Saturday 30 November and Sunday 1 December, The Front Room, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire on Saturday 14 December, Sands Village Hall, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire on Sunday 15 December, Libra Theatre Cafe, Camden, London on Tuesday and Wednesday, 17 and 18 December, Sands Village Hall, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire on Friday 20 December, Fairycroft House, Saffron Walden on Saturday 18 January 2025 and The Cockpit, Marylebone, London from Friday until Sunday, 24 to 26 January.
