Manchester-based Monkeywood Theatre's latest production, Once in a House on Fire, returns to The Lowry in June, moving from The Studio to the larger Quays Theatre, for an in-demand encore.
This follows last year's sell-out tour, and Manchester Theatre Award nominations for Best New Play and Best Studio Performance.
Developed with The Lowry Studio, supported by Arts Council England and funded through grants for the arts, Once in a House on Fire by Sarah McDonald Hughes is a story about ordinary people growing up in Manchester during the 70s and 80s. Based on the award-winning memoir by Andrea Ashworth, the story focuses on a family of four women living in the shadow of domestic violence and poverty.
