The Bacchae

Young Everyman Playhouse follows up its recent production Until They Kick Us Out with the Greek tragedy The Bacchae by Euripides from Thursday 7 to Saturday 9 May at the Everyman.

Slighted at birth by his family, revenge plays heavily on Dionysus’s mind. He descends upon the Greek underworld to commit and control acts of bloodshed, lust, obsession and trance.

Director Chris Tomlinson said, “after devising our way to current political affairs with Until They Kick Us Out and pushing the thoughts of civilisation involving future technologies with The Grid, YEP for the first time in the Everyman theatre main space presents a scripted play and a heavy classic Greek tragedy at that."
