Animal Farm

Blackpool’s Grand Theatre has been commissioned by Children’s Theatre Partnership to develop and lead a national creative learning programme linked to George Orwell’s Animal Farm.

Young people from Blackpool School of Arts join hundreds of young people across the country in learning the power of language; just as prize boar Old Major and his band of pigs do when bent on rebellion and revolution in Orwell’s classic tale.

The local group will be producing their own digital political speeches in response to a live performance of the production at Blackpool Grand this week.

Programme leader at Blackpool School of Arts, Michael Holdsworth, has also given the group a tutorial on ways to strengthen their political speeches using physicality, questioning, repetition and emotive language, along with quotes and expert opinions.
