A record number of entries, 170, has been confirmed for this year’s Buxton Festival Fringe.
Theatre forms the backbone of the programme, with previous award winners Freerange Theatre presenting Rob Johnston’s Einstein’s Daughter which won the King’s Cross Award for New Writing—a national platform for emerging playwrights.
This year’s entrants have come from all over the world; in the dance section, Key Physical Theatre from Taiwan will be Rambling in an Empty Room.
Stephanie Billen who chairs the Fringe said, “It’s wonderful to see Buxton Festival Fringe firmly established on the national scene.
“We have more entrants than ever and the quality of events on offer throughout Buxton is fantastic.”
Fringe Sunday in Buxton Pavilion Gardens on 8 July will include a taster of what will be on offer.
