New Earth is offering a five-week online performance course for British East and South East Asians based in the south of England, the Midlands and the North West.

Everyone aged 18 and above can apply for the courses. No performance experience is needed. Every Saturday afternoon, students will meet online with a guest director. During the week, there will be evening sessions in voice and movement as well as guest workshops.

The deadline for applications is Tuesday 27 April at 5PM. Online interviews will take place in the afternoon of Saturday 29 May. The courses begin on Saturday 26 June and run every Saturday afternoon from 1 until 3PM and every Monday evening from 7 until 9PM until Monday 26 July.

New Earth will also be running its first Off Stage Academy for British East and South East Asians who have an interest in learning what it takes to make theatre behind the scenes.

The New Earth Off Stage Academy is an introductory, six-week, online course in technical theatre. Again, no experience is required. Classes will take place every Thursday afternoon from 3 until 5PM and will include workshops with industry professionals in set, lighting, sound and audio-visual design.

Applications can be made at the New Earth web site.

New Earth will also co-present Storyhouse Chester's production of August Strindberg's Miss Julie, adapted by Amy Ng and set in 1940s Hong Kong. It will be streamed live from Thursday 15 until Saturday 17 April.

Miss Julie will visit York Theatre Royal from Tuesday 22 until Saturday 26 June and Southwark Playhouse from Tuesday 29 June until Saturday 3 July.
