Arab Nights from Metta Theatre

Acclaimed theatre company Metta Theatre brings its latest production Arab Nights—billed as an Arabian Nights for a modern age—to The Studio at Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre from December 6-8.

Riding the wave of change across the Middle East, this response to the Arab Revolutions is by writers from Egypt, Iran, Lebanon, Palestine and Syria.

The character of Queen Shahrazad brings these stories to life, presented directly to the audience and giving them the power to decide whether she lives or dies after each.

The stories include diabolical djinnis, an ancient wall, 1,000 perfect plastic dolls on the banks of the Nile, a modern-day Sinbad and a shoe-obsessed dictator’s wife.
