Derby's Deda will receive £282,073 to create a new studio space

Three projects in the East Midlands have been awarded funding from Arts Council England’s small capital grants programme.

The biggest amount, £495,000, goes to Chesterfield Borough Council to improve facilities at the Pomegranate and the Winding Wheel. This will allow the theatres to “present a varied high-quality programme of live arts and film”.

Nottingham Media Centre will receive £384,720 for the Broadway arts centre to “establish it as the lead centre for creative media in central England”. Its building on Broad Street will have improvements to its lower-ground level.

Derby dance venue Deda will use £282,073 to redevelop its theatre and create a new studio space, enabling it to build new business partnerships.
