Northampton Royal and Derngate’s NextGen Arts Leadership programme which is open to young people aged between 13 and 21 is to start again at the end of September 2022.

The free programme is part of Royal and Derngate’s wider NextGen initiative enabling young people to work with industry professionals and get an insight into a range of careers in the arts.

Mentors will help young people to develop skills in project management, marketing, producing, budgeting, research and delivery of arts-based social action projects.

Royal and Derngate’s creative learning assistant Oskar White, himself a former member of the Arts Leadership programme, commented, “being an arts leader is a great way for young people who are passionate about the arts to get involved in projects that really make a difference while gaining amazing experience of arts management.”

The NextGen Arts Leadership group which will discuss events and plan projects will meet on Thursdays starting on 29 September from 5:30 until 7:30PM.

Further information and an application form can be found at the Royal and Derngate web site.
