The Hawth at Crawley will be hosting auditions for English Youth Ballet this June, searching for 100 boys and girls aged 8 to 18 years to perform Coppelia at the theatre in October.

Janet Lewis MBE, director of English Youth Ballet, is looking for 100 young dancers for the production at The Hawth Theatre, Crawley in October 2014 through auditions on Tuesday 24 June.

Lewis was awarded an MBE in 2009 for her services to young people and dance. She was with the Royal Ballet Company and was a soloist ballerina with the English National Ballet, where she danced with both Rudolf Nureyev and Margo Fonteyn. She formed EYB in 1998 to provide professional performance experience to young dancers in the regions of the UK.

There will be 2 auditions at The Hawth for 8 to 11 years and 12 to 18 years, in which the dancers will take part in a 1½-hour ballet class on the stage with their parents invited to watch. There is a £12.50 audition fee.
