Leicester’s De Montfort Hall is looking for youngsters to join the cast of its 2019 Christmas panto Aladdin.
Children aged between 9 and 16 can audition for the junior ensemble who will appear on stage alongside Leicester’s Sam Bailey, Antony Costa and Martin Ballard.
Steve Boden of Imagine Theatre, producers of Aladdin, said, “we’ll be looking for two teams of children to take part in the show. We’re looking for children who as well as dancing ability have that special something extra that makes them stand out from the crowd.”
Antony Flint, De Montfort Hall general manager, added, “this is a great opportunity for those with an interest in working in the entertainment business to see if it’s right for them. We had about 150 children auditioning for Peter Pan last year and we’re expecting the same this year if not more.”
Auditions will take place at the hall on Sunday 21 July. Application forms can be downloaded at the Imagine Theatre web site.
Aladdin will run at De Montfort Hall from Saturday 14 December until Sunday 5 January 2020.
