Andrew Aughton has left Buxton Opera House after 15 years as chief executive.
Aughton, who previously worked at Preston Guildhall for 11 years, paid tribute to staff and volunteers, many of whom worked with him for the whole of his tenure at Buxton.
He added, “Fifteen years in the same role has been a huge pleasure and privilege.”
When Aughton arrived in the Derbyshire spa town in 1998, the Opera House put on about 250 performances per year. Now it stages more than 820.
A PR company representing the Opera House did not return calls about why Aughton had left and whether a successor will be appointed.
