Ava Hunt: used to acting alone

Derbyshire-based actor Ava Hunt will perform at Buxton Fringe her one-woman play Acting Alone, inspired by the people she met in Palestinian refugee camps.

The play “explores and weaves together tales of the frequently hilarious and occasionally downright bizarre experiences of touring as an actor and performing alone”.

Ava Hunt said, “I originally performed Acting Alone to raise money for Amnesty International when the humanitarian crisis was at its height last summer. The reports in the news about what was happening to the Palestinians in Gaza were so upsetting, and I knew that there were still so many things that I felt incomplete and helpless about, following my visit to Palestine in 2013.

“This was maybe the time to be doing something. The audience’s feedback to this first outing of the play was so positive I was overwhelmed, and I’m delighted to have the chance to develop the piece further.”

Acting Alone will be at the Hydro Restaurant and Bar from Tuesday 14 until Thursday 16 July at 8PM.
